HE-HAULS LLC Damage Liability Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish clear guidelines and procedures to protect HE-HAULS LLC from liability in the event of damage to clients' property during the moving process. This policy aims to ensure fairness and transparency for both the company and its clients.
Scope
This policy applies to all HE-HAULS LLC employees, contractors, and any third parties involved in the moving process, including packing, transportation, and delivery of clients' belongings.

Pre-Move Inspection and Documentation​

Conduct a comprehensive inspection of all items to be moved. Document any pre-existing damage and obtain client acknowledgment through a signed inspection report.

Use detailed checklists and photographic evidence to ensure that all items' conditions are recorded prior to the move.
​2. Packing and Handling Standard​

Ensure that all employees and contractors are trained in proper packing techniques and handling procedures to minimize the risk of damage.

Utilize appropriate packing materials such as bubble wrap, moving blankets, and sturdy boxes to protect clients' belongings.
3. Client Responsibilities​​

Clients are responsible for notifying HE-HAULS LLC of any items that require special handling or packaging. Failure to do so may result in limited liability.

Clients must ensure that all items are packed securely and appropriately if they choose to pack their belongings themselves.
4. Insurance and Coverage​​

HE-HAULS LLC provides basic coverage for damages at a rate of $0.60 per pound per item, unless additional insurance is purchased by the client.

Clients are encouraged to purchase additional moving insurance to cover high-value or fragile items. The details of this coverage must be clearly outlined in the service agreement.
5. Limitation of Liability​​

HE-HAULS LLC is not liable for damages to items that were:​

Improperly packed by the client.

Damaged due to external factors beyond the company’s control (e.g., natural disasters, traffic accidents not caused by company negligence).

Pre-existing or undocumented prior to the move.

Liability for damages is limited to the actual cash value or repair cost of the item, whichever is less, and is not to exceed the declared value or coverage limit.
6. Damage Reporting and Claims Process​​

Clients must report any damages within 48 hours of the move completion. Reports must include photographic evidence and a detailed description of the damage.

HE-HAULS LLC will conduct an internal review of the damage claim. If the claim is valid, the company will offer repair services, compensation, or replacement based on the agreed terms.
7. Dispute Resolution​​

In the event of a dispute regarding damages, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the issue through mediation before pursuing legal action.

Mediation costs will be shared equally between HE-HAULS LLC and the client.
8. Policy Review and Updates​​

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in industry standards and company practices.

All employees and contractors must be informed of any changes to this policy and receive training on new procedures as required.
Implementation and Compliance

All employees and contractors of HE-HAULS LLC are required to understand and comply with this policy. Management is responsible for ensuring adherence and addressing any violations promptly.
